Addicted to BBM/ Whtsapp? Blackberry messenger, Whtsapp messenger.
India is noticing a rise in patients with anxiety issues and restlessness due to constant use of the phone.
Every time my 21 year old cousin feels happy or angry, the first group of people to find out are her BBM (BlackBerry messenger) friends. "
I feel a constant need to keep updating my status" is what the young student said when I asked her why the addiction. "
I always check in on the app called Foursquare, which allows one to let friends know about the whereabouts. So if i am hanging out at a cafe bar or at Taj lands, like to keep updating my status." But my cousin is not alone all the age bars of today's gen-x have got the addicted to messengers whether it be BBM or FB Chat or Tweets or even other IM's of Gtok, YM!, all with the help of mobile app's which are flawlessly taken away the real fun time of young guns of India from their families & friends.
Came across another personal example when I got an beep from my next door neighbor which said hey why not keeping in touch these days hardly see you online. I was shocked and replied, dude I live next to you why do I need to converse with you online??
People are even more so addicted that they even in between of an all important conversation keep checking in or update their status or reply to messages on their super nova smart phones,
rather than having a real laugh with their friends sitting next to them. they love and prefer the LOL, LMAO, & ROFL typying laughing gags on their IM's, (really the world has become smaller).
Neway I read it on an article and would want to highlight you guys some illness which we all are running through these days but are unaware of them :-
According to city psychologists, the number of people suffering from this unhealthy addiction to the BBM / Whtsapp and so on, has increased drastically, even resulting in breakdown of real relationships. "Spouses feel Jealous because many users spend more time on the phone rather on bed or talking romantically. It could become the new cause for divorces," says Dr Kanan Khatau of Life Cures Wellness clinic, who has noticed that men seem more prone to the addiction. ( I feel that's because men don't work in house and that's why prefer messaging on IM's rather than doing something useful around the house)
"BBM / whtsapp etc., forces the brain to switch on and off constantly. It drains you mentally, and results in reduced attention span and hyperactivity." (The reason I feel is ever-time one expect a reply and doesn't get, tends to get anguish as they need quick talks who ever they chatting with). People experience restlessness if they don't receive messages, and panic if they've left their phone behind. A drop in their work performance is also on a high note.
I would advice my fellow IMer and every addicted messenger buffs to give only some amount of specific time to check IM's and try to switch the phone off after few hours and in between or at time of doing work or studies.
High alert young guns I say a new born illness is bound to emerge after some years as all I see these days are heads looking down and fingers moving faster every min or so. Neck problems and spinal illness, finger bones weakness - is what we are going to witness in the coming years
"I AM ASSURE AND GUARANTEE these illness" !!!
